Later games are conditional. If the series ends early, a Game 6 ticket or hotel booking may become irrelevant, so read refund and cancellation terms carefully.

Tickets are scarce and highly dynamic

Season-ticket holders and club allocations absorb much of the arena capacity. Public tickets and authorized resale can be expensive, particularly for potential clinching games. Use official team or league channels and established authorized platforms.

Digital ticket transfer rules matter. Avoid informal screenshots or offers that cannot be placed into the official mobile wallet.

Many NHL arenas sit in central entertainment districts with strong public transport. A downtown hotel can let you walk to the game and remain in the celebration area afterward without dealing with parking.

Canadian and northern U.S. cities may still be cool during the playoffs, while the arena itself is cold by design. A light layer is useful even when the outside day is warm.

Following both cities can mean serious travel

The finalists may be separated by several time zones and thousands of kilometres. Study the actual off-day pattern before assuming you can attend consecutive games in both markets. Flights can become expensive once the matchup is known.

For many visitors, choosing one host city and attending one or two games is more satisfying than spending the series in airports.

Playoff markets often create outdoor viewing parties, packed sports bars and public celebrations. Even without a ticket to every game, being in the host city can be memorable.

If your booking is for a conditional late game, give the trip another reason to exist. A city you want to explore is much easier to enjoy if the Cup is lifted before your ticket date.

Playoff hockey can be louder and later than a regular-season game

Overtime in the NHL playoffs continues in full 20-minute sudden-death periods until someone scores. A close Final can therefore run far beyond the expected finish, with no shootout to end it quickly.

If you have an early flight the next morning, that uncertainty matters. It is one more reason to stay within walking distance or on a reliable late-night transit line.
