This is a different proposition from Wangfujing. The hotel can be more convenient for the CBD and eastern Beijing, while major imperial sights normally require a dedicated journey.

Even at the top end of the market, location matters more than a long amenities list. A hotel that saves repeated cross-city journeys can be more valuable than a marginally more luxurious room in the wrong district.
Check the exact hotel address against your first three or four planned destinations. For Great Wall excursions, the quality of the transfer arrangement may matter more than being a few kilometers closer inside the city.
