Breakfast packages are easiest to evaluate
If breakfast for two would otherwise be expensive and you plan to eat at the hotel each morning, an included-breakfast rate can be good value.
If you prefer local cafés or leave early, the same package may waste money.
Property credits are useful only when they match your plans
Luxury packages often include dining, spa or resort credits. Treat those credits at their real value to you, not at the face value printed in the offer.
A spa credit is worth little if you would never book a treatment.
Minimum stays and cancellation terms can offset benefits
A package may require two or three nights, prepayment or stricter cancellation.

Some high-end booking channels attach breakfast, credits or upgrade priority to otherwise flexible rates. These can be useful when priced close to the hotel’s normal flexible rate.
Always confirm who services the reservation and whether loyalty points, status credit or direct-hotel benefits still apply.
Do the arithmetic per stay, not per night
A one-time property credit may sound large when described beside a nightly price, but its effective value falls across a longer stay.
Compare the total package value over the exact number of nights you are booking, including benefits that apply once rather than daily.
Parking and transfer packages can matter in specific destinations
At city hotels with expensive valet parking or resorts far from an airport, a package that includes parking or transfers can be more valuable than a dining credit.
Price those logistics separately before dismissing a package whose headline benefit looks unglamorous.
Packages can encourage spending you did not plan
Credits sometimes lead guests to book a spa treatment or restaurant meal mainly to avoid “wasting” the benefit. That can turn a supposed saving into additional spending.
A package has real value only when its inclusions replace expenses you already intended to incur.
Compare like with like before booking
Make sure the room category, cancellation policy and tax treatment are identical when comparing a package with room-only. A package can look expensive simply because it is flexible while the cheaper rate is prepaid and non-refundable.
Once the terms are aligned, the value of breakfast, credits and other benefits becomes much easier to judge.
