10. Use recent reviews for current condition
Official classification can lag behind renovation, management or maintenance changes. Recent guest photographs and reviews help reveal whether air conditioning works well, rooms match the listing and construction is underway nearby. Read patterns rather than one angry or ecstatic comment, and prioritize reviews from travelers with needs similar to your own.
