Taha’a shares a lagoon with Raiatea and allows very short movements between anchorages, motus and shore experiences. The island works especially well for couples and families who want a quiet day after a longer passage.

Inside Raiatea, Taha’a and Bora Bora lagoons, the water can feel calm and protected. Between islands, the yacht enters open Pacific swell. Guests who are comfortable at anchor can still find the passage lively. Brokers should match yacht size, stabilization and itinerary to the group’s tolerance for motion and avoid selling the entire region as flat tropical water.
A catamaran can be especially comfortable inside lagoons
Wide decks and shallow draft suit relaxed lagoon life, while a larger motor yacht provides more speed between islands. The choice should reflect how much open-Pacific passage time the itinerary contains. A boat perfect for Raiatea may feel very different on a rougher inter-island leg.
